The movement system finally gets an upgrade… 10 years too late. The graphics get an upgrade… 10 years too late. The world physics get an upgrade… 10 years too late.
You can tell Ubisoft's desperate to save this franchise. But they're chasing trends instead of thinking ahead. They need to ditch their old engine and switch to UE5 so they can take advantage of actual ray-traced and path-traced lighting, to give the world and characters that extra sense of realism which their current engine lacks.
They need to start actually hiring good writers to tell the stories which the games narrative follows, and make the main characters interesting, likable, and people we can relate to even if we don't always sympathize or agree with their motives/decisions.
They need to overhaul the combat system to something more fluid and adaptive rather than a rock–paper-scissors style checkers game. They need to overhaul the transitions in movement and combat so that each one flows seamlessly into the next instead of suddenly jumping/cutting and looking janky and unnatural. They need to overhaul the assassination actions such as dropping from above so that there's a more natural sense of weight and impact, as well as fluid motion instead of seeing the character randomly change direction mid-drop to stay in line with the target if they move at the last second. If the player mistimes the drop, let the attempt fail. Don't force it to succeed with unnatural and unrealistic re-adjustment of player position mid-drop.
There's so much they could be doing to make these games enjoyable again. But they just can't get out of their own way. It's sad, really. What started as a beautiful, inspiring, and jaw-droppingly cool franchise with ACI and ACII very quickly turned into a copy-paste snooze fest. And it doens't look like this is the entry to save the franchise, much as I wish it could be since I love feudal Japan.

It worries me how many times they suddenly had to stop the footage and switch to another angle as if they're trying to hide unfinished or broken game play from being shown on accident. I would have much rather seen 12 minutes of uninterrupted game play in one continuous shot.
I'm looking forward to this game period! I don't care if its historically accurate or whatever I just wanna play it already! gutted that its been delayed another month 😔

Parkour? In this video it just overly done unnecessary flashy twists and rolls. I get Parkour, but if you are going try to make each and every single move look cool and flashy and jumpy and Rollie, basically over the top, it seems overly done. She looks less stealthy assasin and more flash mob dancer who wants victims to see how cool she looks before she killed em.
I hope they tone it down.

Please fire the person who thought that jump cutting every 5 seconds was a good idea, or did the build last only 5 seconds before it would fall apart.

Just me or is this essentially just a cut of the videos that play ingame when you hover over a skill, to show what it does ingame? Pretty sure it is.

This game has hundreds of people working on it and I didn't see a single thing here unique to this game or anything that hasnt been done better by other titles. This is going to be the astronomical flop that kills Ubisoft
Movement looks too rigid, doesn’t feel like it’s flowing. Combat is just a rip off from Ghost of Tsushima. Will keep an eye out on this game but not holding my breath for it. New Assassins Creed just aren’t the same as they used to be.
All they would have to do is add in one additional main character option that is a Japanese man and the game would win like crazy.
