The AC Shadows packs are not weird, it's how it's always been, base game, base game+season pass, base game+season pass+bunch of preorder "crap"; it's actually not that bad given that it's missing base game+a bunch of worse crap, base game+a bunch of crap+a bunch of worse crap. The one werid thing is usually you release a few DLCs before Season Pass becomes viable, so basically paying full price at game release for DLC Story that won't come out for a year or 2, well better really like the game to do that.
