In Dumbledore’s defense, that door WAS locked. Hermione unlocked it with magic. In Harry’s defense, he could’ve put a charm to prevent that. They did that later in the same book.
they really should have sealed the door with something that couldnt be unlocked with a spell from first year books… i mean hermione in the movies even said it was in the standard book of spells chapter 7… i mean why not require a password

Wait, they DID use a locked door on that room. It didn’t really work because there’s a convenient lock picking spell that easily gets through it.
