Ummm… but you know that Arlan never knighted Duncan? Duncan just lied about it.

you made so many mistakes, did you even read the novellas? For one, Dunc does not wear Arlans armour becasue is a lot bigger. Second, it's widely accepted that Dunc was NOT actually knighted, there is no evidence for it and he gets very awkward when asked to knight someone else etc.

anyway what is this about? I thought there were rumors of Jon snow making a tv show of his adventure outside the wall.

I think they are building up this spin off to set up how the knight king happened

Robert's Rebellion would be great to see. One advantage is that we know and can connect to most of the characters there.

Waiting to see Robert Baratheon in his prime and fully grasp what he meant when he said his iconic line "Gods I was strong then" 😊

The thing is, I think we’re meant to question whether Ser Arlan actually did knight Ser Dunk

We actually don't know for sure whether Dunc was officially knighted or not and it's heavily implied that he wasn't. Which is one of the main reasons Dunc feels like a fraud

They have ruined so much in GOT. Then after getting everyone so psyched a
Bout house of the dragon to barely show dragons on top of a lousy ending to season2 HOD. They gonna have to do a lot or lose subscribers. Which means the only saving grace of any of this is make the Jon Snow series to give us closure on GOT to get subscribers back give GREM more creative control and stick to the books!!

Thanks to GRRM HBO is able to keep the lights on over their for the next few years

I like the idea the Dunk marries Tanselle eventually. But, how does he become a member of the King's Guard if he is married?

Im still salty GRRM wrote these books, while I have been waiting for 15y for him to finish ASOIAF. It's been so long, I dont even remember what happened in the last book!

Edit: given the low stakes and the smaller cast, this show has good chances of being the best of the GOT universe. Im so ready for a win!

Dunk's armor in the promo looks very fresh and high quality so it's propably from near the end of the plot of the "The Hedge Knight".
And Prince Baelor doesn't just vouch for Dunk based on nothing, but remembers crossing lances with Arlan at another tourney years before.

I believe Jon Snow will be made. It will be the finale to all these shows. The magic woke up in GOT, this is going into why the magic went to "sleep". We get to understand the 3 Eyed Raven and even Maester Aemon. I want them to expand on their relationship. It seems strange that they just ignored him in GOT. Stannis I believe knew he was there and just saw he was on death's door. Either way, they white walkers might have died, BUT could more just pop up, did the White Walker magic spell break? I think these shows will expand on the magic of the "others". Also, I demanded Melisandre make an appearance in one of these shows.

This is a lot to digest, all am asking is God to bless me to be around and witness all these spinoff..

I hope this isn’t a silly question but how old is aemon in GoT? I got confused thinking Egg was also the Mad King. Then when listening to you speak about who is who, I remembered. Aemon being alive in GoT but having Egg descendant as the mad king, how many years between that?

I'm not sure I want to invest time in another GOT spin off. I loved the original show. Except maybe how it ended. But some iconic episodes I still go back and watch. I was excited to start House of The Dragon when it premiered. The 1st season gave me hope. The second season had it's moments. But overall, I was left disappointed. Imo, the finale was bad. And had me shaking my head. If they would have had least 1 more ep, and just dip a toe into the fighting, I assume will be season 3. I'd be more excited about the next season, or future spin-off. At this point I've lost interest unfortunately. And they are just going to milk the shit out of GOT with more of the same.

Something that just occurred to me today is Dunk and Egg’s intro won’t be met with the same disappointment that HotD’s intro was.
I haven’t met a single person that was happy about the use of the GoT theme music for HotD, but at least now we know that spin offs don’t get their own theme; less people will be expecting it going forward
