Dark Souls is one of the most controversial and interesting games in the souls series for just how much it changes the formula of the first game. despite being the black sheep of the series, its influence is felt throughout the rest of the games genre. let me explore dark souls 2 and evaluate its quality, and whether its worth spending money on in 2024.

I’m actually about 70% finished the game towards another NG. I didn’t play original Demon Souls, but remastered was so short and boring. DS1 was like a good movie – one-two times was enough to me. Same as Sekiro.
I didn’t finish DS3 – came back to DS2. I didn’t finish Bloodborne, cause I wanted to play DS2 a little more. I got bored in Elden Ring, didn’t finish, deleted near the end. And here we are hahaha… Been playing all souls games, but DS2 is taking me away. Over and over again :}
Best Souls 2
Like the vid finna sub
The dlc missions and bosses of ds2 are masterpieces.
the best exprience will be the PC version, yes i have the consoles versions aswell
Definitely, it's a fun game with a lot of versatility in weapons, spells and non-linearity.
This is going into. I'm going to watch this later folder
2:53 “…and it’s what I believe the creators intended you to play.” Do you know how distinct the two games are from each other?
I hear Scholar called “the definitive edition”. Or it’s the remaster. Nope.
It’s a remake.
The enemy placement and item placement are vastly different, with huge ramifications.
There’s none of the silliness where areas are gated by petrified statues.
Powerful late-game weapons don’t show up after the first boss.
The Dull Ember isn’t within spitting distance of the Blacksmith that needs it to function. It’s next to Smelter Demon. Good luck finding the way there on your first run. If you don’t talk to the Cleric that opens the path, or know that she moves to the Rotunda, chances are Iron King is your last stop before Drangleic Castle. So much for all the infusion fun Scholar pampers you with.
DS2’s enemy placement is a nice mix of combat and exploration. Scholar literally stuffed enemies in every area Vanilla left vacant. It’s all combat, all the time. There’s no flow. You’re always en garde. Where’s the surprise if every area is simply another encounter?
I’m not anti-Scholar. It’s got some things I like. For example, I like all the added NPC invaders, Forlorn included. There’s a bunch of new NPC co-op summon signs. And a third friendly summon is allowed, instead of two.
But Scholar made such a big error with where they moved items, and enemies, and upended the whole experience.
Here’s my take on your take: Scholar is the leftover “A-Team” folks with time on their hands deciding to put their stink on the game. Instead of a next gen remaster, they thought they knew better than “B-Team”.
Nope.
Glad this video just dropped cause I was just wondering if I should run it
Cool video. I’ve been streaming a lot of DS2 on my channel. Great times
Also they have to play demon souls
The frozen dlc on this game is nuts 😂😂😂😂😂
