  1. As an OG crafter, I am actually looking forward to it after this trailer. I’m not chomping at the bit and won’t be there day one, but I do want to see it.

  2. My 10 year old son plays a lot of Minecraft and he has gone from not wanting to watch the movie after seeing the first trailer, to now wanting to watch it after seeing this one.

  3. I feel like with this director in charge of this movie I think its meant to be weird and cringey, I've watched half of napoleon dynamite and it was such a strange movie, but some how got well recceived so will just have to see. I'm still very optimistic for this movie

  4. Just bc a game is popular doesn't mean it deserves a movie. Maybe one day studios will understand that

  5. Hot Take: all the people defending the Minecraft movie trailer with excuses like “it’s for kids. It’s not for you. Let people enjoy things.” are the same people who also bashed the old Sonic movie design back in 2019. But y’all ain’t ready for that conversation yet.

  6. I like how Chris gives her opinion. Level headed and saying is not for her, instead of just saying is awful, I thought we were supposed to leave our expectations at the door and give movies a shot.

  7. Disagree. I'm not a Minecraft fan and the movie still doesn't look appealing to me but this was a MUCH better trailer.

  8. Thank God I’m not the only one. Reading the comments on the trailer made me feel like I had missed something, this looks horrible. I don’t think this trailer is as bad but it’s not saying much. I just can’t tell who this film is really made for

  9. Yeah I've been seeing a lot of people saying this is a much better trailer than the first and even an "apology" for that trailer and like… yeah it's kind of better, but I'm still not sold at all.

Jason Mamoa just seems like the Peter Dinklage character from Pixels. Not a good comparison.

  10. Can't agree. Also, I have a feeling the target audience, which I am not, will love this trailer.

  11. Much better than the last trailer but still not entirely sold on the movie.

Love the look of the world & all the mobs but really wish the humans were animated as well.

They stick out like a sore thumb to me.

Also love that they used some music from the game.

As a huge fan of the game I hope this can be at least enjoyable.

  12. The beginning of the trailer was kind of bad. It was pointed out to Mr that it looked like AI. AND IT DID. Other than that looks decent. Jason's character looks very interesting

  13. Imagine if the trailer for Pixels was your introduction to Pacman, that's how it feels as a Minecraft player right now. This looks god-awful and nothing like the game. The whole point of the game is there being no story, its a sandbox.

  14. It looks terrible and probably is a bad trailer but i think their target is kids and all those kids are gonna make their parents take them. Besides theres some grown ups who will go just because

  15. Is Minecraft still popular? I’m genuinely asking because it seems like an IP that has passed its prime, and this movie seems like it may have missed its boat by a decade. But I’ve also never played it, so I could be completely wrong.

  16. Strongly disagree. I thought this trailer was a huge improvement over the 1st one and for me personally it made the movie actually interesting.

  17. 1. Jhon, play the game, it costs you nothing but a fun time and if ben Shapiro can do it so can you.

    2. Here are my main issues, this movie in every regard is a disappointment, from the art direction, to the plot, and to how they decide to bring this video game world to life.

Some say that the movie should have been in animation, and i agree but that doesn't mean the movie couldn't have worked in live action, they could have went a little bit dark fantasy esthetic wise, but the direction they decided to take it instead doesn't work, instead of converting Minecraft items and mobs into a more realistic versions of themselves that still function and act the way they do in the game, they chose to go completely down the middle which leads to the uncanny look thats in all of these trailers. We don't need a Minecraft sheep, we just need a sheep thats wool is stylized in a blocky pattern, we don't need armor that is cubed shaped, we just needed armor that fits the hunan form but has design eliminates from it Minecraft counter part.

Instead of the world being made up of blocks to create landscapes that almost look realistic, they chose to to make the entire worlds gimic that it is blocky. For example, that's like making a LEGO piece out of Lego pieces, that doesn't make sense, the LEGO movie did it the correct way, everything felt natural even though its a world made of Legos, they didn't need to push that fact into the audiences face.

Then theres the story, it's extremely generic and screams that someone put a bunch of movie ideas that have already been done for video games on a dart board, and after throwing their darts this is what we get, it's a dart board movie. Jason Momoas character is a great example, he's and old school gamer so he can make references that the older audience will get, and he's washed up because he's never moved on from his one big win, we see this character in everyother video game movie and I'm tired of seeing it.

Regardless of all that, this movie still has my seat, because this was my childhood and i find jack black funny, but i will be sitting there laughing in disappointment instead of joy.

  18. As a kid that grew up with this, I'm excited to watch. The visuals are so good other than humans

  19. sigh again we will see John hate this movie before it comes out then will end up loving it once he sees it

  20. The first trailer looked bad and unfaithful to the game.

The second looked bad but faithful to the game.

The second trailer made the movie go from bad, to fun-bad for me

  21. I don’t know why the hate as a Minecraft player for years I liked it, the mechanics of the game done pretty faithfully the moment where Steve puts dirt blocks remind me of the first day when I made my first dirt house it’s beautiful

  22. The way John talks about this movie is the SAME way I talked about the Mario Brothers movie and it made over 1 billion dollars! Insane!

  23. This is a much better trailer than the first one but I still think it looks terrible. I will never understand why they made this movie in live action with all this ugly CGI.

  24. I have a completely different view of the trailers. I thought they were wonderful and the movie looks like lots of fun, and most importantly, my kids are excited to see it. Thats enough for me.

  25. This was a better trailer, but the only thing that looks good to me is the world. It does look like Minecraft come to life, but that’s it. It still doesn’t make me want to see it.

  26. I'm personally not a fan of minecraft, I don't think it will be good, I probably won't bother to see it, but this was definitely a better trailer, John is just straight wrong.

  27. Yes, I agree that it's a better trailer… But they should have followed the same formula a lot of Minecraft YouTubers and animators did in the early 2010s. And did it in that style. This live action-animated hybrid is not working for me.
