While i agree the rummors are stupid there are 2 things. 1 the ceo of nintendo international is retiring at the end of the year. He authorized switch oled production and is chasing 156 million units sold for swit h which would beat the ps2 in global units sold. Not happening. People wanted better hardware from them for 4 years. Nintendo as a company wants to get rid of switch oleds and probably wont talk of new hardware often fearing oleds wont sell
Thats the earliest possible release date. If that was true my 2019 prediction was 100% spot on and i dare predicting 2 possible release dates: 1.) March 06, 2025 2.) March 10, 2025 (Mar10 Day) I wouldn't be surprised to see it's release even later like summer or winter next year…
Regarding the "need time to explain/differentiate the system" idea, I'm not sure I agree in this case. If it is a fully backwards compatible system, the name is the same (Switch 2), the branding is therefore the same, I don't see why you can't just quietly discontinue making the old Switches and just redirect everything to Switch 2? The only challenge will be communicating that some games will inevitably be Switch 2 only,
I really hope they just surprise the while works again while doing something completely wolf and innovative. After all, that's what they are known for, right? ❤
I'm calling it now Nintendo is going to milk the switch 1 more year before switch 2. We still have Pokémon legends ZA, DK cuntry returns, MP 4, we'll get some surprise little titles. Some 3rd party games. The yearly sports games. Indie releases will have an indefinite life on switch. And I bet they are saving Metriod Prime 2 and 3 along with Zelda Wind waker HD and TP HD to end the year strong. And we'll get a Switch 2 announcement sometime next year but no release until either very late 2025 or early 2026

The Wii U wasn’t selling, so announcing the Switch earlier(NX was announced in 2015) was done to let people know what was coming next. With the Switch not dead, it does make sense to not announce the next system till you’re relatively close to release. So Nintendo said that nothing will be announced until the end of the fiscal year. That is march 31st? How this new leaks make any sense?
