Just wanted to talk about PC gaming and finally show off the new PC build and specs I’ve been teasing.

  1. No flex but I finally got a i9 14900KF 4080 super 2tb 32 gigs Lenovo prebuilt. Not cheap… I’ve done the mini pcs with external gpu setups and oculink on handhelds. I hope this new pc is future proof for gaming ❤❤❤.

  2. So let me get this straight… People saw a Falcon Northwest PC. A company built by an aeronautics engineer who puts their PC case designs through wind tunnels while testing insane levels of nuance around designing for optimal airflow and noise levels thought that THIS PC wouldn't have good airflow and temperatures? REALLY?!?!?!! The internet is such a wonderful place.

  3. My first gaming pc will be a rog ally x. Im tiered of being trapped in a console eco system.

  4. Ive just got a pc and come from console gaming and i was used to gaming at 30,40,60 fps with the occasional 120 and its crazy being able to run games at ultra at higher fps

  5. I'd say start with prebuilt and then use the upgrade process to help ease into the "building process". That's what I've done and DON'T get an Alienware of any kind! NZXT is solid price wise and you can choose the components you want. If you would prefer to build they also have a DIY setup where you pick from a range of pre selected rigs and they ship them to you for you to assemble the rig yourself. It comes with a detailed picture book with instructions to guide you through the process, as well the tools you'll need.

  6. I use my PC for both work (programming) and gaming, and the best piece of equipment I can recommend for it is a good mechanical keyboard (I personally use Keychron). Apart from that, yes I fully agree with you that Windows is the worst part of PC gaming (and PCs in general). Linux is not really ready for mainstream gaming desktop use (does not support multiple monitors with different refresh rates and resolutions with fractional scaling on each of them), so the only thing left to use is Windows, which for some reason really wants to install Candy Crush on my PC, even after I paid for Windows 11 Pro. Bizarre.

  7. I just built my first one. I had to go 3rd string on a couple parts for either space management/aesthetics or budget. This thing is still a monster. I call it my "Displacer Beast" build. Tricked out with Purple ARGB "breathing" lights on the RAM, AIO, MoBo, Case Fans, and Peripherals.

  8. Bro I’m shitting myself lmao I just bought a 4090 FE edition I’m waiting on all my parts but I’m worried ima fuck up this is my first gaming pc ever and I’m switching from consoles to pc I will keep my PS5 just for the exclusives my series X is getting sold and my switch OLED well that’s for days I wanna play Mario but this PC is to play all the big AAA/AA games that are not exclusive in which I want the best graphics and FPS possible wish me luck that I don’t F up lol

  9. Digital Foundry peeps really seem to love using their LG C series 42 inch OLEDs as PC monitors, I think you’d enjoy it

  10. PC graphics are usually better, games are usually cheaper and there's no subscription fees like ps plus or Xbox live. Building it yourself is so much easier nowadays too. Think I'm finally done with my consoles after decades. Not a PC matter race rant, just enthusiastic recommendation to anyone on the fence👍

  11. I built my first dedicated gaming PC back in 2017. It had an Intel i7700k and GTX 1080 ti, along with an RGB AIO and all that jazz. It was a monster machine at the time, which to me meant a lot because growing up I was never able to afford something like it. Switched to SFF a while back, and while I liked the extra space on my desk, I thorougly did not enjoy building it. So fast forward to yesterday, I had all parts ordered and delivered for a build in the Fractal Design North. Took me pretty much the entire day, taking great care with cable management, and now it's finished – humming along right next to me. I'm immensily proud of it. It looks great, it's very quiet and the performance is quite mind-blowing compared to my first build.

I think, for me PC building can bring a fantastic sense of accomplishment. Doing the research, choosing parts, putting it all together and hearing those fans spin up for the first time is just an amazing feeling. You did the work and now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor for countless hours to come 🙂

  12. The people talking about it online with bad airflow are clueless. FNW have been doing this for years they test it all.

  13. This is my favourite channel, well this and Gameranx. Falcon and Jake are just so relatable. My PC journey started with a 386, upgraded to 486 which got me into GTA, had to upgrade to Pentium 1 when GTA2 came around, then Pentium 2 to run GTA 3, and the rest is history. Hell I even had a 286 with a dot matrix screen, got fed-up of old uncles PC's and Library.

  14. my first PC was in the mid 00's and had a 8800 GTX. I was living and breathing counter strike source back then. I later upgraded to a new machine with a gtx 480 when I got my first job as a teenager. When I got my first adult job i went balls to the walls and built a pc in the Cosmos II case. That one had a 4970k intel processor and a GTX 780, that machine carried me for many years until i upgraded to a 8700k/ RTX 2080 combo and last year I built my current machine. Decided to go AMD this time, 7950x with a merc 310 7900 XTX from XFX. more Xes means better, yes?

  15. Love the vid! Most of us PC gamers are actually quite chill. We're not as vocal as the jerks but we're here to help if need be!

My tips for building a PC:
Be patient, these are fairly senstive parts and you don't want to be rushing, banging and otherwise jamming things into things.

Don't baby your stuff either, of course be careful but most PC parts are built now a days with safe guards so it's recommended to wear an anti static braslet but not required (unless you're on carpet, but please never build on carpet) don't worry about putting too much thermal paste (in moderation) and don't worry too hard on cable managment, nothing will short and even though it will help later if you do, not required.

If your PC doesn't automaticlly boot on first go, leave it on for a few minutes and maybe it'll boot. Some newly built PCs need a second to wake up so to speak.

Also magnetic screw drivers! GOD SEND!!!

  16. I've b been using windows since 3.1 and pc since apple IIe. Im used to windows "quirk"

  17. A How-to on cleaning and speeding up Windows would be great. I can't be the only person who hates Bing popping up in Chrome anytime there's an update. There's probably loads of instrumentation that can be turned off too. Maybe an interview format video with some mega experts?

  18. Great video about PC gaming and your experiences with it! Your Falcon PC looks dope af. Cheers, my dude.

I was a gamer first but it wasn't long before I would fall in love with the tech. I had my first gaming PC back 10 years ago! It was an ITX rig with an i5 4460 and a GTX 760, the shop built it for me. I remember playing the OG Mass Effect 2 on it that first year!

Fast forward to 2019, I decided to finally build one myself (R5 2600 + RTX 2060) and man, I have found that the pursuit of PC building more rewarding to me vs. actually playing games! It's the planning, the research, the hunt for parts – the actual assembly, and the reward of a fully functioning system. To date, I think I've built >30 systems for family and friends since then, and it feels like I've got so much more to learn (haven't even dabbled in custom loops yet). Maybe for my next major upgrade?

P.S. Oh and the Ghost S1 case is by Louqe (pronounced Loki) and my main rig currently lives in one!

  19. I used limewire to download a song called “50 cent vs Eminem” and that’s when 12 year old me first discovered porn

  20. Pairing only an i7 with only dual channel 64gb of memory, certainly a choice. And a 1200W PSU to top it off 🤣
