  1. I honestly don't understand the hate here

People really hated the Daleks in Colour? I watched the black and white version and the new edit back to back and the edit was far superior as it cut out the padding without losing the story

  2. I just hope they incorporated the original scores in the new soundtrack

  3. This looks fantastic. Some of the old shows are overly long and I welcome a cut down version but the colour, oh my it looks brilliant and so fresh. Can't wait.

  4. I hope they do a similar effort with Enemy of the World. Not as long as The War Games, so it won't be as bad a cutting job as this or The Daleks in Color.

  5. Great news especially for the younger generation. I am looking forward to seeing this version and also still having the original version on DVD. πŸ™‚

  6. I would love it except for the shortening to 90 min, and the out of place CGI models and such to make it "exciting", which like the CG sequences forced into Star Trek & Red Dwarf, has no place here. I suspect, and fear, from the widening of the titles at the end of this trailer that the presentation will be actually shown in wide screen, but oh well.

  7. Great. Another tarnished classic ruined by RTD. Bet he'll insist on a bi-regeneration at the end. 😑

  8. Wish they did the whole thing, instead of a 90 minute edit.
And I do hope that the regeneration is not like the ones from the modern version.
The regeneration has to be worthy of both Patrick and Jon.

  9. This looks good. Hopefully it's not given the same treatment as The Daleks in colour though.

  10. I'm glad to hear that this story has been colourised. However, I'm disappointed to hear that what was a story made up of 10 episodes each of about 25 minutes, making about 240 minutes of action after deleting all the theme music for the individual episodes, has been cut down to just 90 minutes! I think this means that about 63% of the story has been deleted to make this new version. I can't see how the BBC could do this without losing important details from this story. I hope there are no flashbacks, which would mean even more details were missing. I advise everyone who hasn't already seen the original version of "The War Games" to watch it IMMEDIATELY! The colourised version of "The Daleks" has now been removed from iPlayer, apart from the audio described version, which will be deleted at 03:37 on December 27, 2024!

  11. Reminder: All 10 episodes of The War Games rounds over 4 hours. Let's see how they edit it down to 90 minutes.

  12. Nice to get any Troughton in colour, but as with The Daleks In Colour – I expect it won't be as good to have the "shortened" version.

  13. Here we go again. Another classic story butchered for MODERN AUDIENCES. Its pathetic. Any colourization of classic stories, should be done in full. NO EDITING OR BUTCHERING INTO 90 MINUTES. This will be a shadow of the original.
