franchies is so goated that peopel think 86 is low score
It's SUPER good. You play a dnd wizard.
It has better dungeons than totk. Totk reviews was mostly hype in my opinion. Mid game. This one looks more enjoyable and i feel like im going to enjoy it more
It's a traditional Zelda game that I like and runs great on Steam Deck 9/10
VGC
Last of us 2 →100
Echoes of Wisdom →60
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is my opinion personally and I get why people like or love this game and any of the other ones, but I can't help but be disappointed. Nintendo has messed with (or in my opinion broken) my favorite part of Zelda games for three games in a row now: The sword play and the boss fights. I just wanna be a lil dude (or lady!) and run around and smash stuff with a sword and do dungeons!
But since Nintendo seems fully uninterested in making games like that anymore, I think I'm just gonna have to find other stuff to fit that vibe, which kinda sucks, but like, it's been ten years and I think I have to give up on Zelda being for me anymore.
The problem with metacritic is that they toss star ratings into the average with percentage scores. A 4/5 star review carries a very different meaning than an 80/100 percent score but MC treats them the same. That 60% review is actually just a 3/5 star score.
I blame the low score on the people who are saying it’s a child game, because it’s a more traditional Zelda despite this the style it started from basically. Also I don’t pay attention to metacritic scores, because some people on there are becoming more politically bias, as Black Myth Wokong is a good example.
the open formula is good but it should be its own thing
A ton of reviews are trend followers. The switch is such old news that I can't see it getting anything in the 90s anymore. Unless it's a duel release with the switch 2
hi BOTalksGames
It's Zelda, it will be great and I will buy it regardless of ratings but my only disappointment is there is a leaked 100% playthrough of this game that was completed in less than 24 hours and from many of the comments the person playing wasn't even that good and took a lot of time on simple puzzles. I'm no where near as good at video games as I used to be but I look at the silver lining, takes a lot longer to beat. 💋
Regardless of you’re playing as Zelda or link… I don’t think they should’ve taken away the typical combat of a sword shield and Bow / arrow and turned it into a tiny feature
Immediately killed a lot of my hike for the game
This concept of “total freedom” shouldn’t be applied everywhere with Zelda just because it works with breath of the wild. Nintendo should really stop going full force in one direction, complete disregarding an entire history of classic games thinking their new path is better. It’s honestly a bit stupid.
Nice to hear non Switch 2 topics
People just need to enjoy the game and not worry about what kinda score it's getting.. their are a lot of games that have shitty scores, but i enjoy them for the most part.. who give a shit.
Critics can be pretty lame most of the time. I’m not saying because it’s Zelda it has to be amazing, but some people like the attention of being staunchly against something. 6/10!? Yeah right…
If we're being real with ourselves, it's a spinoff of a remake of a gameboy game that heavily and unashamedly borrows from totk where Link is not even the main protagonist.
That being said, the blended score is not bad at all. No one was expecting this to be a masterpiece.
Probably still better than Starfield
I've played all it and I have some thoughts… It's pretty good. 8.9/10 🙂
I want to play it, but not for $60
Maybe open ended puzzles can be done right but idk, being able to use the same echo for most of the obstacles/puzzles just kinda trivializes the whole thing. Imo, the fun of zelda puzzles does actually come from restrictions, whether the developer allows there to be one solution or only a few. The problem comes when the developers allow tons of solutions while providing no restrictions. Taking away all restrictions means that not only will there only be one most efficient solution that works for every puzzle, but it's also not fun cheating your way around a puzzle that the developer is not only allowing you but *encouraging* you to cheat at.
It’s a shame when people give it a low score because it’s Zelda and not link and from nit picks such as that. Myself I’m glad they took a different approach and give us something slightly different but maintaining much of the formula we loved about the classics. I think those that gave it a low score was being unfair
I never thought this game looked fun I expect the game score to drop once it’s released to the public
VGC's review feels kinda like a skill issue.
Giving it 6/10 is very low lol
Imo EoW looks like it will be more enjoyable than totk from what I saw.
Reviews are still just opinions
Just reading most of the 8/10 reviews, I would guess the scores would be a 6 or 7 for any other game given how critical they sounded. But more importantly for me, the reviews confirmed this is not the game for me. I didn't see anyone praising boss battles. Still holding out since Skyward Sword.
forget about the final score, I think most of the cognitive dissonance comes from seeing something like Astro being described as revolutionary while this gets a six? As you said, it’s worse than links awakening? Something is just not right. But in the end it’s whatever
I was surprised by the meta score, tbh but that's because most zelda games get well into the 90s lol. 86 is still GREAT. I think a lot of it comes down to people not wanting botw style in top down zelda.
Edit: Because I was worried about the framerate a bit, i watched a framerate analysis. This game runs at an unlocked framerate. It doesn't seem to go below 30fps, but it can be pretty inconsistent between 30-60. I have no idea why they didn't cap it at 30. it would have been a lot smoother. Just some information for whoever cares about this stuff haha
You've really become my go to for Nintendo gaming news ever since Gamexplain went under😅
It is woke shlock
The bigger question:
How much sales for EOW by the end of this year?
